These guidelines were prepared in 2000 as part of Australia’s National Water Quality Management Strategy (NWQMS). They provided a comprehensive framework and guidance for the monitoring and reporting of freshwater, and marine water and groundwater. Described the design, application, analysis and reporting of monitoring programs. The document did not discuss drinking water, waste water and effluents covered by separate NWQMS guidelines. A shorter summary report accompanied the full report.
