The technical brief, data table and assessment worksheet comprise the package of information associated with the derivation of the draft DGVs for Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) in freshwater.

Please note, until the approval process has been successfully completed, the draft DGVs are only drafts and should not be used or referred to as an Australian and New Zealand Guidelines for Fresh and Marine Water Quality DGV.

August 2024 update: Six submissions were received for the draft PFOS in freshwater DGVs. In early 2024, an independent technical committee was established to consider and provide recommendations on a number of the more significant public comments. The committee's independent report has been finalised and published. A process is currently underway to update the draft PFOS in freshwater DGVs in accordance with the committee’s recommendations and other jurisdictionally-approved recommendations arising in response to the public comments. The draft proposed responses to public submissions have been published. A full account of the response to public comments will be published when the draft DGVs have been finalised, approved and published.
